At this stage it was 8. The woman checked with the kitchen and seeing as it was 2 mins after 8pm she was once again told the kitchen was closed. Absolutely ridiculous that the the chef was unprepared to take one single order especially as food was still coming out of the kitchen as I waited to be served.

I would suggest you change the sign outside your pub that says "food served all day". Won't be returning.

The only negative things I would say is that the menu hasn't changed in a long time and so I tend to get the same thing over and over as its really good - fish. They stop serving food at 8. Thankfully there is still Anna who is brilliant and whizzes around but it gets manic on a Sunday and the place is packed and you can be a while waiting for everything. The Elphin is a good local pub serving excellent food. We had the sole fillets pan fried with side salad and skinny fries and they tasted great.

Also the beef and Guinness pie was yummy and big enough portion for two.

Friendly staff and all food cooked to order. Highly recommended. I go to this pub regularly on a Saturday for lunch and drinks with my friend who lives near there. I have to say I am always delighted with the quality of the food, particularly for local pub, the food is exquisite, either full dinners or sandwiches and soup.

The staff are extremely friendly and always look after us. I would particularly like to say that Debbie and Anna are so friendly, love going there! We don't live too far away but we had never been here before. We just had a drink but it was very dark. I went out to the back bar to use the toilets and the whole back bar was cold, I couldn't believe people were sitting out there.

We didn't try the food but we looked at the menu and it was quite expensive. Overall I don't think I'd go back. Own or manage this property? For mains the adults had burgers: me the venison one; her the vegetarian one.

Both were excellent, generous in size and flavourful. Great chips! The highlight for me was the desert: a chocolate and raspberry brownie which was just delicious.

I have eaten lunch here a good few times now and every time have come away feeling deliciously happy. The staff are present, helpful and considerate. The portions are very generous, excellent value. I have a particular fondness for their smoked salmon on brown bread I love to surprise my friends with the good food here as most of them don't know how good it is inside.

I would definitely recommend this place! We live in the estate around the corner, so we often pop in for dinner after a days work. It's very quiet and nice to go for dinner and few drinks. Fish and chips is exceptional, portion is huge and service is very good and We'll keep coming back as long as we live here!

We frequently eat here and can honestly say we've never had a bad meal. The staff are friendly, efficient and welcoming. There is a good selection on the menu and always an added extra on the 'specials ' board. The decor is lovely. The restaurant In winter there is a warm fire burning. Well worth a visit More.

We had no time to call everyone to tell them the new time as this was a surprise birthday party and there were guests travelling across country just to be there, we had 45 mins to set up the whole room!! The catering manager was by far the worst person I've ever had to deal with, every time I dropped up to organise the party we were ignored.

There was no communication between the Bar Manager and Catering Manager and hence the absolute disaster of setting up the room by being given the wrong info from the catering manager.

They demanded everything be paid up front, which is never the case when booking a venue for any party, we trusted these people and paid the lot. By the end I went back up the following day and demanded a refund and compensation as an apology for the disgraceful handling of this event. I received only a refund for the food that was not delivered and a small amount as an apology.
