Some youngsters seem to think it great fun to fire bangers into back gardens at dogs or cats or put them through people's letter boxes. Strangely enough, fireworks are illegal in Ireland , except with special license but they can still be bought!!!
I was in Northern Ireland during Halloween I was surprised that they sold fireworks for Halloween. I did also hear that they dont sell them in the Republic of Ireland but people drive up there to get them. We are only allowed to have them here on the 4th of July! Well, Arizona isn't just because it's always so dry here for people to set them off. I didn't see any kids trick or treating homes however I hear they do that there too.
Someone told me trick or treating is more of an American thing that is catching on over there. I suppose someone will correct me if I am wrong on that! Now the fireworks are presumably used for Halloween as well, though halloween is a very recent introduction in Britain and would not be celebrated, except for the occasional halloween themed party.
I'm with Clauds on the undesirability of Halloween, small kids dressing up and doing trick or treat is one thing, but it is frequently an excuse for vandalism, and illegal, dangerous fireworks in the hands of irresponsible people.
